How often do you play WOW?
Generally speaking every day. Summer days are for gaming. I usually have plans at night, but being on PST it rarely conflicts with raiding on an East Coast server.
Current raid times are Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday usually at 8 Server for 25 Man content. Knowing this, how many days would you be available to raid?
I could easily make every raid on a regular basis. Weekends are usually full, but obviously, with raids being on Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday this is not at all a problem.
What endgame raiding experience do you have (briefly describe any from previous expansions, and what you have done in the current expansion)?
Karazhan – First raiding experience. Learned the mechanics of a basic raid.
Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon – First 25 man content. Loved it the second I started it. Emerged as top damage dealer in a very solid raiding guild at the time.
SSC and TK – Began to master raid mechanics. Tier 5 really provided an opportunity to learn the in’s and out’s of an entire raid.
Black Temple/Mount Hyjal - Got part of the way into Tier 6 before guild fell apart and I lost interest in the game.
Naxxramas (10 and 25) - Came back to WoW for WotLK. Naxx seemed like it would be an awesome start and comeback for raiding. Naxx sucked. Far too simplistic. I miss difficult trash.
Ulduar – Joined several guilds in an attempt to get this instance done. Attendance problems plagued every guild I joined and WoW became less and less attractive as I would log in every night to find out I wasn’t raiding for the sixth day in a row.
ToC and ToGC – No experience in these instances when they were new content. I’ve done them now that they are old content, but from what I’ve seen and what people tell me I didn’t miss much.
Icecrown Citadel – I personally think ICC is very cool. I’ve only raided a small portion of it in PuGs as my gear is only just now getting back up to par. 7/12 in 10 man and only 6/12 in 25 man. Heroic lootship though, srs bizznez.
Describe your MMORPG experience, if any:
World of Warcraft
Why do you play WOW?
Fascinating game as far as the complexity of raid mechanics and fight complexities are concerned. Also, I’m pretty competitive and live the feeling of learning and killing new raid bosses.
Explain the basic role(s) of your class in PvE and PvP.
PvE Warlock Roles
Affliction Warlock – Rotation based DoT spec. The goal of this spec is to maintain efficient DoT uptimes while filling with shadowbolts and drain soul. High AoE potential due to most Corruption boosting talents also giving a damage buff to Seed of Corruption as well. Viable as a single target dps spec with enough haste, for haste affects both the spell the warlock is currently casting as well as time between ticks of Corruption on the target. Buffs the raid with Improved Shadowbolt for a 5% crit increase on target.
Destruction Warlock – Burst damage “big numbers” spec. High burst damage comes from instant cast conflagerate as well as backdraft procs increasing haste enormously on the following 3 casts. AoE potential is moderate with Seed of Corruption as the spell is not buffed at all by a primarily fire focused spec. Viable as a single target dps spec. No buff for the raid (This is assuming 13% sp buff is applied by an Unholy DK or Boomkin).
Demonology Warlock – Pet and proc based spec. Felguard does a considerable amount of dps, and damage by warlock is affected mostly by use of procs and CDs like Demonic Empowerment, Metamorphosis, Molten Core, as well Decimation execute below 35%. Demonic Pact is a GREAT raid buff for casters and healers , as the buff in 251, 264, and 277 gear can climb as high as 500-600 spell power.
**NOTE**- I can currently play any of these specs should the raid require it.
In what areas of the game are you lacking? What is your most significant weakness? (Gear and pvp is not an acceptable answer)
I would say I lack most in a clear understanding of difficult WotLK raid encounters. I have not had the privilege of being able to raid any of the difficult encounters of this expansion with a group of people that actually have a fighting chance. I don’t have any doubt that I could easily pick it up, but as of right now I am ignorant as to what the complicated fights of WotLK are like.
What do you look for in a guild?
I am looking for a guild that performs at a level similar to the level I know I am capable of performing at. I like to kill bosses. I want a guild that likes to kill bosses, and has the wherewithal to indulge that desire.
How important are clear guild rules and goals to you?
Clear rules and goals define an organization. A guild cannot function on an elite level without them.
When is loot important and when is loot not important?
The only purpose loot has is to provide the guild with the tools to defeat the next encounter. I only feel loot is important to me on a personal level when it is required for me to perform at the level my guild expects of me.
What are your expectations regarding guild raids?
I expect to be surrounded by a group of people that not only understand their own class and role, but the effect that their actions have on the rest of a raid. Every raid member should be well versed on what every role in the raid is doing and how that affects the entire encounter. I also want a raiding environment where I can be fun at the same time, and not have the effect the outcome of the raid.
What can you bring to No Life?
A knowledgeable and experienced warlock who wants nothing more to contribute his abilities to a group of people with similar skill and goals.
Why should we invite you to our guild?Honestly?
Because I will not disappoint you.
How are you specced? (Please provide a link to your build.) and are you willing to stay at the given spec or respec if needed?
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... tionflakesI am still trying to figure out whether affliction or destruction is my highest output spec in an ideal 25 man raid. I will obviously play the higher of the two unless otherwise told. I am completely open to respecs if there is a solid advantage to the raid in me doing so.
Why do you think No Life will be a good fit for you?
My friend Brad (Actiontoast) has very similar abilities and goals to mine, and he is very content with his experience in No Life.
Do you understand that Ventrilo and certain mods will be required for guild raids?
Absolutely.
Do you agree to abide by No Life's guild rules?
Yes.
